Mrs. Melissa Ray, ELC Director at elcdirector@gormanbc.org

Melissa has been in childcare for 13 years with 9 years at Gorman Early Learning Center.  She graduated from Vance-Granville Community College with an Associate Degree in Early Childhood in August 2007.   She is married and has 3 children.  She and her family attend Pleasant Grove Baptist Church in Creedmoor where she serves on the Children's Council and teaches an adult ladies' Sunday School class.  Her favorite verse is Proverbs 3:6 "Seek His will in all you do, and He will show you which path to take."

Mrs. Lisa Watkins, ELC Administrative Assistant at gormanelc@gormanbc.org

Lisa has been with Gorman Early Learning Center for 3 years.  She began as a Lead Teacher in the 2 year old class, she then worked with the 4 year olds, and has just taken the position of Administrative Assistant.  Lisa is married and has 2 children.  She attends Victory Baptist Church in Durham where she does the children's ministry.

Mrs. Stephanie Collier, Kitchen Assistant

I have been married for 12 years to my husband Barry Collier.  We have been blessed with two children, Jacob, age 5, and Kaitlyn, age 3.  I have been employed at Gorman Early Learning Center since August 2007.  I attend Mt. Bethel Worship Center in Wake Forest where I direct "Hands On" Puppet ministry and serve as the Kingdom Kids Church leader.  I love the Lord with all of my heart and want to be used by God to reach the hearts of children at a young age, teaching them about Jesus and His love for them

Mrs. Jeanette Davis, K3 Lead Teacher

I am married to Mike Davis.  We celebrated our 40th wedding anniversary this past June.  I have two grown sons, Brad and his wife Kelly, and Lee and his wife Amanda.  Lee and Amanda have my one grandchild, Elijah.  I have worked with children for more then 25 years!  I taught in public school 10 years and have worked in preschool for 18 years. I have been at Gorman ELC for 14 years and work with the 3 year olds.  I love Gorman and consider it a privilege to serve my God by ministering to these children and their families.  I pray that God will use me to bring every child I teach, to a saving knowledge of Jesus Christ. I thank God for the chance to make a difference in their lives.

Although I have just joined the ELC staff, I have been in childcare for 10 years.  I am married and have two children.  We attend Pleasant Grove  Baptist Church.

Mrs. Jolee Gann, K3 Lead Teacher

This is my 4th year teaching at Gorman.  I taught the 4 year old class for 2 years and this is my second year teaching a three year old class. I am married to Brian Gann. We celebrated our 15 year anniversary on October 3rd. I have two children. Kara, age 11, and Kacie, age 8.   Both of my children attended the preschool and now attend Gorman Christian Academy.  My husband grew up at Gorman and also attended the preschool as a child. We are all active members here at Gorman Baptist Church.  I enjoy teaching children's choir 1st -6th grades at church and have been teaching for about 10 years. I also sing in a ladies quartet and am active in my Sunday School class. I am thankful that we have a wonderful ministry like Gorman.  My children have benefited greatly from it and I truly believe God is pleased with this outreach of Gorman Baptist Church.

This is my 1st year to teach here at Gorman. My husband and I just moved from Arkadelphia, Arkansas where I was working as the Lead Teacher and on site Director at a nearby preschool.  I graduated from Quachita Baptist University with a BSE in Early Childhood Education.  My husband and I now live in Wake Forest where he is attending Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary.  I love working with children and am very blessed to have the opportunity to work here at Gorman.

Mrs. Carla Koehler, K2 Lead Teacher

I have been in child care for 5 years.  I attend Covenant Life Sanctuary and love the Lord. I  am working on my Associates Degree in Early Childhood Education.

Mrs. Linda Morgan, K4 Lead Teacher

I was married to Don for 36 years, who is waiting for me in heaven. I have two grown sons, Perry and wife, Michelle, and son, Tyler. Jason and wife, Dana, and their children, Dalyn and Riley. I am a 4 year old teacher and have worked at Gorman for 11 years and I attend Gorman Baptist Church.  Working with children has been a blessing and I hope in some small way I have blessed these children.

Ms. Teresa Smith, K4 Lead Teacher

My name is Teresa Smith and this is my first year at Gorman.  I graduated from Piedmont Bible College with a BS degree in Elementary Education with a minor in Bible.  I am a member of Bible Baptist Church where I serve as Junior Church Director, nursery worker, and AWANA Secretary.  I came to Gorman after five years at the YMCA and two years in the Wake County school systems.

Nichole Utley, K2 Lead Teacher

Nichole grew up in Durham and is a former Gorman Christian Academy Student. She is in her third year at Vance Granville Community College planning to transfer to a local university next fall. There she plans to earn a major in Psychology with a minor in Substance Abuse Counseling. Nichole has a passion for children and a desire to teach them about Jesus.  She felt God's call upon her life to work at Gorman and is starting her second year here.

Mrs. Tammy Wills, Afternoon Teacher

I am married and I have two children that I home school. This is my first year at Gorman Early Learning Center.  I attend United Pentecostal Church where I run a bus route for our children's ministry.  I love working with children and love serving the Lord.
