Mrs. Terry Chambers, GCA Principal at principal@gormanbc.org

Terry is a graduate of Appalachian State University in Boone, North Carolina where she received her Master of Arts Degree in Education and Bachelor of Science in Health and Physical Education.  She is a native of Durham and is married to Sid Chambers.  They have two children, Zack and Andrew.  They are members of Gorman Baptist Church.  This is Terry's ninth year at Gorman Christian Academy.

Mrs. Tracy Upchurch, Office Manager at officemanager@gormanbc.org

Tracy is a graduate of the University of North Carolina at Wilmington where she received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Criminal Law.  She is married to Craig and they have two children, Jessica and Taylor.  They are members of Gorman Baptist Church.  This is Tracy's fourth year at Gorman Christian Academy.

Mrs. Robin Bouchard, Financial Office at gcafinanceoffice@gormanbc.org

Robin is a graduate of Messiah College in Grantham, Pennsylvania where she received her Bachelors Degree in Accounting.  She is originally from Maryland, but has called Raleigh home for the past seven years.  She is married to Jim and they have two daughters.  This is Robin's fourth school year with Gorman Christian Academy.

Ms. Stephanie Bandy, Fifth Grade Teacher at 5thgrade@gormanbc.org

Stephanie is a graduate of Piedmont Baptist College in Winston Salem, North Carolina where she received her Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education.  This is Stephanie's fourth year at Gorman Christian Academy.  She lives in Raleigh and is actively involved at Friendship Baptist Church.

Mrs. Deanna Berrios, Kindergarten Teacher at Kindergarten1@gormanbc.org

Deanna grew up in Indiana and is a graduate of Trinity Christian College in Palos Heights, Illinois where she received her Bachelor of Art in Elementary Education.  She is married to Eduardo Berrios and they moved to Wake Forest following their June wedding.  She taught Kindergarten for five years in Apopka, Florida.  This is Deanna's second year at Gorman Christian Academy.

Mr. John Boney, Athletic Director at athletics@gormanbc.org

John is a graduate of Campbell University in Buies Creek, North Carolina where he received his Bachelor of Science in Physical Education and Health. While attending Campbell,  he also worked in the Athletic Department as both the Student Assistant Athletic Director and the Student Assistant Sports Information Director.  He has also received the title of ACSM Certified Health/Fitness Specialist through the American College of Sports Medicine and has been elected to Member status in the American College of Sports Medicine.  John has over  twenty years of experience in the preventive and rehabilitative sides of sports medicine as an instructor and educator prior to coming to Gorman Christian Academy.  John is a native of Wallace, North Carolina and is married to Maria Boney.  They have one son named Joshua.  They are members of Gorman Baptist Church.  This is John's fourth year at Gorman Christian Academy.

Mrs. Maria Boney, Librarian and Teacher's Assistant at librarian@gormanbc.org

Maria is a native of Durham, North Carolina and is married to John Boney.  They have one son, Joshua, who graduated from Gorman Christian Academy and has continued his education at a Christian high school.  They are all members of Gorman Baptist Church.  This is Maria's sixth year at Gorman Christian Academy.

Mrs. Deborah Clayton, Art Teacher at artteacher@gormanbc.org

Deborah is very thankful and happy to be teaching Art at Gorman Christian Academy.  She grew up on a farm in Rougemont, attended Mangum Elementary and Northern High School.  Early in her career, she attended Alamance Tech and received an Associate Degree in Commercial Art.  After years of working in drafting, she decided to go back to College and earn her degree in Art.  Deborah graduated in 2004 from North Carolina Central University with a B.A. in Fine Arts and in 2005 received her licensure in Art Education.  She has three grown daughters who live in the area.  Deborah is a member of Red Mountain Baptist Church and believes in Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior.  She desires to be a witness for Christ and feels blessed to be serving in the ministry at Gorman.

Mrs. Terri Anne Darby, Music Teacher at musicteacher@gormanbc.org

Terri Anne has been blessed by God with a gift for music and love for children.  She grew up in Boone, North Carolina and received her Bachelor Degree in Sacred Music with a concentration in Piano Performance from Appalachian State University.  She plays piano at Guess Road Baptist Church, teaches private piano lessons, and is in her fifth year at Gorman Christian Academy.  Terri Anne is married to Ted Darby and they have three children, Nisah, Jaylin, and Naeem.

Mr. Eric Dalman, Middle School Teacher (Bible and History) and Sixth Grade Home Room at middleschool2@gormanbc.org

Eric is a 2006 graduate of Southeastern Seminary where he received a Bachelor's degree in Biblical Studies.  He and his wife, Stephanie, are both native to the area and live in Franklinton.  They are members of North Wake Baptist Church in Wake Forest.  This is Eric's second year at GCA.

Mrs. Kelly Davis, Third Grade Teacher at 3rdGrade@gormanbc.org

Kelly is a graduate of the University of New Orleans where she received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology.  Originally from New Orleans, Kelly moved to Durham in 2003.  She is married to Brad Davis.  They are members of Crosslink Community Church in Mebane. This will be Kelly's fifth year at GCA.

Mrs. Jane Edgerton, Kindergarten Assistant

Jane began her teaching career at the Gorman Early Learning Center which was then known as the Kinder Kare.  Jane enjoyed teaching preschool for ten years and then moved into the Durham Public School System.  She spent over twenty-one years there where she worked mostly with the Exceptional Children's Department.  During that time, Jane also attended Durham Community College where she was working toward getting her associates degree in Early Child Care.  Jane is married to Ed Edgerton and they both attend Gorman Baptist Church.  They have three daughters and one little Dachshund known as Baby Precious.

Mrs. April Jenkins, First Grade Teacher at 1stGrade@gormanbc.org

April is a graduate of North Carolina Central University in Durham, North Carolina where she received her Bachelor of Arts in Criminal Justice.  April has 6 years of teaching experience.  This is her first year at Gorman Christian Academy.  She is married to Emanuel and they have one son, Nathan.  They are members of New Life Christian Center in Durham.  This is April's second year at GCA.

Mrs. Amanda Jones, Second Grade Teacher at 2ndGrade@gormanbc.org

Amanda is a 1995 graduate of North Carolina State University in Raleigh, where she received her Bachelor of Arts in Communication.  She is ACSI certified in Elementary Education.  She attended Cresset Christian Academy from K-4 until she graduated in 1991.  Amanda has two wonderful children at Gorman.  Shelby is in the fifth grade and Tyler is in the third gradeTheir family is very involved at Ridgecrest Baptist in Durham.  Amanda has been at Gorman  for eleven years and has worked in several different grade levels.  This is her fourth year teaching second grade and she loves it!  She is also in her second season of coaching the cheerleaders.

Mrs. Roxi Meyerson, Third and Fourth Grade Assistant.

Roxi is a native of Pennsylvania and is married to Rich Meyerson.  They have one daughter, Lyndsey, who is in the sixth grade at Gorman Christian Academy.  They are members of First Baptist Church in Creedmoor, North Carolina.  This is Roxi's eighth year at Gorman Christian Academy.

Ms. Phyllis Morriss, Middle School Teacher (Math and Language Arts) and Seventh Grade Home Room at middleschool1@gormanbc.org

Phyllis is a graduate of Campbell College in Buies Creek, NC.  She graduated in 1972 with a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education.  She has attended Wake Technical College, Strayer University, and Fresno University in California for furthering her education in middle school mathematics and language arts.  She has lived in the Raleigh area all of her life.  She attends Cary Church of God and is active in choir and drama.  She has taught all grades, but middle school students are her love.  She enjoys doing statistics for the volleyball and basketball teams at Gorman.  She is a member of "Who's Who Among American Teachers" and tutors students in grammar and mathematics.  This is her first year back at GCA after previously teaching at Gorman for nine years.

Mrs. Izabella McMillon, Middle School Teacher (Science and Foreign Language) Eighth Grade Home Room at middleschool3@gormanbc.org

Izabella is originally from Romania and a graduate of Babes-Bolyai University and Reformed Seminary in Cluj, Romania where she received her bachelor degrees in English, Theology, and Education.  Izabella has been teaching for ten years now and this is her fifth year at Gorman Christian Academy.  After living in Romania, Hungary, and the United States, she has settled in the United States and is married to Joel McMillon who previously taught seventh and eighth grades at Gorman Christian Academy.  Her European accent and language skills bring extra color into our Academy!

Mrs. Marcie Staats, Cafeteria Supervisor

Marcie was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and spent eight years at Immaculate Conception Catholic School and then went on to Norwin High School.  Marcie has been in the food service business from her first job until now. She spent fifteen years at the Sheraton Inn Corporation where she became the Assistant Banquet Manager.  She has been married to Norman for twenty-five years and they have one son, John who lives in Pennsylvania.  They are blessed to have a grandson, Shane, who lives with them and is in the second grade at Gorman Christian Academy.  They are members of Gorman Baptist Church.  This is Marcie's second year at Gorman Christian Academy.

Mrs. Rosebell Williams, Fourth Grade Teacher at 4thgrade@gormanbc.org

Rosebell graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in Education and a Minor in Music from Trinity Baptist College in May of 1999.  Two years later she started a Masters program at Landmark Baptist College and graduated with a M.S. Degree in Christian School Administration in 2005.  She is thankful to the Lord for all the many blessings He has bestowed upon her.  She is happily married to Alonzo Lawrence Williams and they have a two year old son, Alonzo II, who attends Gorman Early Learning Center.
